Welcome aboard! Thank you for volunteering for our Republic. Work at your own pace — it will only take a few hours. After you complete this page, you will be considered an “Old Timer.”
If you’re here, you’ve already taken the most important step — you’ve chosen to learn the truth about how American governance is supposed to work, and what it means to be a self-governing people. The Florida Republic is not a political party, a protest movement, or a fringe group. It is the lawful, de jure government of the people of Florida, operating under the original organic laws of America and the common law — exactly as the Founders intended.
Most Americans have never been taught the difference between a U.S. citizen and an American national, or that county assemblies — not federal agencies — are the foundational unit of lawful self-governance. This page exists to fill that gap. You’ll find a simple checklist of first steps, answers to the most common questions new members ask, and everything you need to get oriented before moving into the Fast Track and the Patriot Academy.

Your First Steps
If you are new to the Republic for Florida, welcome aboard! Thank you for volunteering.

Register for an account. Your county organizer will be notified. If your county doesn't have one yet, you could consider taking on this role.

If there is no organizer in your county, contact Jim Costa if you want to volunteer to organize it.

If you are a state or county officer, send your contact information to the webmaster.

Save any expenses you incur on behalf of the Republic — they will be reimbursed after Stand-Up.

Go to the Patriot Academy and get properly trained.

Common Questions
What is the Florida Republic?
The Florida Republic is the lawful, de jure government of the people of Florida — distinct from the corporate STATE OF FLORIDA. It operates under the original organic laws of America and the common law, and is populated by American nationals who have corrected their political status.
What's the difference between a U.S. citizen and an American national?
A U.S. citizen is a subject of the federal corporation. An American national is a sovereign man or woman, a Floridian by birth or choice, operating under the law of the land. Correcting your political status means establishing this distinction on the public record.
What is a county assembly?
A county assembly is the lawful governing body of a county, populated by American nationals. It elects officers (Justice, Clerk, Bailiff), keeps records, issues findings, and represents the people's interests at the county level.
Do I have to do anything special to join?
You start by learning and correcting your political status. There is no fee. Once you've corrected your status and attended an assembly, you're a participating member of your county assembly.
Is this legal?
Yes. The right to assemble and to self-govern is protected by the First Amendment and deeply rooted in American history. County assemblies operate under the common law — the original law of the land.
